Practical Software, Extensible Technology.
KuroLabs is an open-source engineering organization focused on building software, AI systems, and developer tools designed to solve real problems through modularity, transparency, and engineering discipline.
/ Why KuroLabs Exists
Modern developer tooling is increasingly fractured between black-box hosted services that strip developers of control, and toy prototypes that fail under real workloads.
KuroLabs explores how intelligent systems, automation, modular software, and developer-focused tools can work together to make complex engineering tasks easier while keeping developers in full control of the technology they run.
The organization should not be defined by a single application. KuroCodeAgent is the first major project in a broader ecosystem that grows to include independent products, libraries, developer utilities, and AI infrastructure.
Our Mission
Build practical, extensible, and accessible software that helps people solve real problems, automate workflows, and explore what modern technology can do.
Our Vision
Create a growing ecosystem of open-source projects that work independently while leaving room for collaboration, reuse, and future integration.
/ Core Principles Guiding Our Work
01. Build useful things
Prioritize real functionality, determinism, and practical outcomes over synthetic hype. We build software to solve actual development challenges.
02. Open by design
Make source code, project decisions, and contribution paths accessible wherever possible. No proprietary moats or hidden execution walls.
03. Modular by nature
Build software that can evolve, be extended via standard manifests, and integrate smoothly with existing developer toolchains.
04. Experiment and learn
Treat projects as opportunities to explore ideas, test architectures against reality, and improve through concrete feedback.
05. Engineering over hype
Communicate capabilities honestly, distinguish shipped features from planned ideas, and prioritize software quality over marketing buzzwords.
06. Community matters
Welcome contributions, issue triage, RFC feedback, and collaboration from developers and engineers worldwide.
/ Ecosystem Structure
KuroLabs serves as the home organization. It sets code quality standards, hosts shared registries, and fosters an open culture.
KuroCodeAgent is an autonomous terminal agent project demonstrating practical AI execution directly on developer workstations with verifiable security controls and self-healing.
Kuro Hub is the public capability registry containing verified metadata for tools, plugins, procedural skills, and external integrations, usable by KuroCodeAgent or other tools.
New projects will be introduced into this structure as independent, decoupled repositories, adhering to the same modular principles.
Participate in KuroLabs
Everything we build is published in the open. You can explore repositories, suggest enhancements, report defects, or submit your own capabilities.
